about
Dunedin Fine Art Center, one of the largest arts education institutions in the US, has maintained a mission of inspiring and educating artists, of all skill levels and age groups, since 1969. They host more than 1,000 classes annually, have seven gallery spaces, 17 classrooms, a children's museum, a café, and a shop. Everything they do to make art accessible and fun for all is funded entirely by donors, so having a powerful brand and highly functioning website are key elements in allowing them to thrive.
The challenge was to create a brand that would capture the joy of creating art, captivate the interest of younger generations, and better represent the vibrant community they've built over the last 50+ years. Big Sea brought me on board to lead design on a complete overhaul of the visual identity and website. Every element of the brand was reimagined to align with their goals. The result is a visual system that is consistent, clear, and easy to use—without sacrificing that sense of freedom and playfulness that is the very essence of art—and a website that makes navigating and registering for their education programs a breeze.
